Friends of Jesus Food Pantry
Illinois Great Rivers Conference Advance Special 6140
The Friends of Jesus Food Pantry, a ministry of the Equality, Ridgway and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Churches, continue to be a tremendous source of care for the spiritually and physically hungry people of Gallatin and Eastern Saline Counties in Southern Illinois. The month of October found our Food Pantry feeding 72 households representing 152 people.
This is a great accomplishment and speaks well for these 3 churches whose combined attendance at Sunday Morning Worship is between 75 and 80. Our Food Pantry is open every Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 0’clock. Through the generosity of the Equality, Ridgway and Wesley Chapel United Methodist churches, and through our status as a Conference Advance Special we have been able to faithfully carry out a vibrant ministry in our area. The tough economic times place added emphasis for the Friends of Jesus Food Pantry to stand firm and strong in our faith that God will continue blessing our ministry. Please remember us in your prayers and consider the Friends of Jesus Food Pantry, IGRC Advance Special 6140 as you discern the missions you and your church will support this Advent and Christmas Season and as you plan mission budgets for 2009.
