Higher Education

The Committee on Higher Education administers two scholarship programs for United Methodist students. The Merit Scholarship program, which is derived from a share of the United Methodist Student Day offering, is available to United Methodist students who are planning to attend a United Methodist school or university. The Illinois Great Rivers Scholarship is open to United Methodist students attending any college or university and is funded through the the conference budget.

The Conference Higher Education Campus Ministry team (HECM) asks each congregation, parent or student to notify us of the names of students attending college level classes. We would like to make sure all students are connected to campus and the United Methodist Services.

You can register students using this link, UM Students, developed by students and campus ministers, led by peer minister John Powers, at the University of Illinois. Names gathered will be shared with the campus ministers at the respective university that the student will be attending. This strengthening of the connectional system is open to students from Illinois attending any university in the country.

Please visit the site and share a name and email so these students can be connected to ministry.
