Delegate Information

    Randy Robinson

    Personal Statement

    Ordained Elder: 1983
    Serving: Danville St. James
Experience:  VIM to Liberia. Oversight of 90 local churches as superintendent
Gifts and Passions: Local and global missions, spiritual formation, discipleship development, renewal through practicing the Wesleyan means of grace
Personal Statement: My passion is to live and serve as a disciple of Jesus Christ. This calling provides a few of the reasons I offer myself to serve as delegate to the 2016 General/Jurisdictional Conferences:  Our mission, making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, has the power to form us as a distinct people of God. If we embrace it, are shaped by it, and unleash its power, this Spirit-driven mission has potential to unite and propel our church. It enables us to fulfill God’s call, driving every ministry from the local church to the General Church. What if General Conference applied this mission statement to every petition as the single criterion for proposed action: Will this petition, if approved, advance our disciple-making mission?  Our covenant: I believe all UMs, clergy or lay, as a matter of integrity, work to reform the church only from within the covenants of baptism, ordination, and Discipline. General Conference decisions are expressions of our common life within these covenant commitments. Church Unity: I support proposals designed to achieve amicable unity within The United Methodist Church, in the spirit of Jesus’ prayer, “that they may all be one so that the world may believe.”
