This camp is for those who want to take part in a real rustic camping experience. Why sleep in a cabin when we can build our own shelter? We will be doing primitive camping out in the woods. This week, we will sleep in tents and make our own shelters. You will learn all kinds of outdoor living skills and spend time reflecting on God’s will for our lives. However, you can’t come to East Bay and not participate in all our fun camp activities. During the day we will spend plenty of time swimming, boating, tree climbing, playing games, crafts, and much more. Register early -- we only have so many tents.

Are you bored with your life on the ground?  Do you dream of being high in the air?  Then come to Altitude where you spend your week running through our amazing teams course, climbing some of our tallest trees, and soaring through the air on the zip line.  One day will be spent at a rock gym off site, where you will get a chance to climb in one of the largest climbing gyms in the country. CIT is a can't-miss opportunity to make your mark on the ministry at East Bay Camp.  If you are interested in experiencing the nuts and bolts of leadership and then having the chance to live them out, this camp is for you. All campers that attend CIT camp will go through a small portion of the training that our summer staff does. After the week, you will have the opportunity to shadow a counselor. If you have always dreamed of being a counselor when you get older, then this is the camp for you sign up for so you can come back and give it a try. Room is limited. Register Early.

 What does it mean to be a member of a church? What are YOUR responsibilities? What expectations come
with confirmation? You may know the answer but do your youth fully understand what it means to be
confirmed? We invite you and your youth to join other UM confirmand’s as they are led through the
weekend discovering the rich history of the United Methodist Church. Materials from both Claim the Name
(Living Springs) and Credo (East Bay and Little Grassy) will give an opportunity for your students to grow as
they learn.
Retreats are designed to complement, not replace, the confirmation classes at the local church. Register
early for your first choice of camp. Retreats will start on Friday at 7 PM and end after worship on Sunday by
11 AM.

One adult must attend with each group of 5 or fewer youth. Contact Camping/Retreat/Youth Ministries at

Christopher Ames, a Christian speaker, singer, and song writer, will be returning to AIR this summer.  He will use story and song to tell about his Christian journey and to get to the heart of our faith.  During Family Time there will be intense Bible study, and in the afternoons we will offer rock climbing and mission opportunities. Our mission opportunity in 2012 will be to work with Jesus Es El Senor United Methodist Church in Cobden as they prepare for their Bible School.  Traditional camp activities, crafts, swimming, hiking, canoeing, and fishing (to name a few), will also be offered.

Campers Got Talent camp will be a week of creative arts!  There will be drama, music, and visual arts activities, with each camper spending the most time in the area that he/she likes best.  Each activity will be led by professionals who work with children in each particular field.  We will also have some traditional camp activities like swimming and campfires.  Morning devotions and evening worship will be lead by Rev. with confirmation? You may know the answer but do your youth fully understand what it means to be
confirmed? We invite you and your youth to join other UM confirmand’s as they are led through the
weekend discovering the rich history of the United Methodist Church. Materials from both Claim the Name
(Living Springs) and Credo (East Bay and Little Grassy) will give an opportunity for your students to grow as
they learn.
Retreats are designed to complement, not replace, the confirmation classes at the local church. Register
early for your first choice of camp. Retreats will start on Friday at 7 PM and end after worship on Sunday by
11 AM.

Mission Illinois is every middle school and high school youth leader’s dream mission trip.  We will meet at Little Grassy United Methodist Camp and spend the week working on mission projects in southern Illinois.  All the planning is done for you!  Youth leaders need only provide transportation to and from the mission sites and chaperones for their youth!  The cost will include housing, meals, and all mission and fun activities. We love our volunteers at Living Springs!  We have relied on volunteers to provide a quality summer camping program for the children and the youth of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference.  If you would like to be a camp volunteer, you must complete and return a camp registration and reference forms, which may be found at www.igrc.org. You must also undergo a background check and participate in volunteer training prior to camp.  Please submit your volunteer application and reference forms to: Camping, PO Box 19207, Springfield, IL 62794-9207.  Background checks must be completed prior to camp.

Join in a fun-filled, high-energy environment of games and contemporary Christian music to discover and develop your spiritual gifts as you grow in leadership skills.  Using an action/reflection model, leadership growth will be experienced through lessons, role-playing, mission projects, games, music, and worship.  Youth will be introduced to basic leadership training and application at Living Springs Camp site Wednesday evening through Sunday.  Youth will continue to develop their leadership skills through training and participation in camp activities.  About one-third of the day will be spent in leadership training sessions, with the rest of the day spent in supervised involvement practicing leadership skills with Summer Games Camp.

Join in a fun-filled, high-energy environment of games and contemporary Christian music as older youth and adults share their faith and lead campers in fun and spiritual growth.  Experience our active, energetic worship as well as all the regular fun of camp including swimming, campfires, hiking, indoor gym activities, the rock climbing wall, pool/ping pong/foosball, and outdoor games.  There are special daily activities for everyone such as Christian Dance, Dance Revolution & Wii Sports, arts and crafts, interpretive dance, boating, “Summer Games Crazy Olympics,” and more.  Everything is designed to help us grow in Christian community as we grow in our personal relationship with Christ.  Don’t let the summer heat keep you away!  Our facilities are all air-conditioned for comfort.

Trained Summer Games Staff members (minimum age 18) and volunteer parents/adults must contact the deans for approval (which will include a background check with the camping office) before registering for this camp.  Staff members fulfill the main leadership roles and function as the main counselors for Summer Games Camp.  They work with Summer Games and SLT campers alike to provide a fun, safe, Christian environment.  Adults help provide supervision and evaluation of SLT campers, as well as help “behind the scenes.”  Adults provide more of a support network rather than main leadership roles—this provides personal time for reflection, study, and personal work.

If you enjoy water, earth, and sky as the basic backdrop, you want to consider canoeing the lakes of Voyageur’s National Park.  We focus on God through canoeing, tent camping, cooking outdoors, sharing devotionals and lessons, singing and just being with a group in this water and woods primitive setting. (Children under Senior High School must be accompanied by an adult)
