The Illinois Great Rivers Conference camping and retreat ministry is seeking a person to manage the 550-acre Jensen Woods Camp site in rural Mt. Sterling, IL, on a part-time and interim basis beginning August 1, 2013. The employee is responsible for daily operation, maintenance, readiness, and general care of all camp assets, including but not limited to land, natural resources, buildings, vehicles, and machinery. The position also includes light office work requiring an ability to use email and fax machine. Employee needs maturity, hospitality skills, and passion for creation care; an appreciation for a United Methodist-based program and operation; proficiency in use of tools, tractors, and machinery; availability to meet daily needs of summer program staff, volunteers, campers, and guest groups; and accessibility in event of emergencies. All duties are to be performed in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines, including local, state, federal and where applicable, ACA guidelines.
