Personal Statement:  Even in retirement, I am called to ministry and to live out my ordination as an elder. Therefore I cannot ignore issues faced by the UMC and our need to make difficult decisions to move us more fully into our disciple making mission. Also critical is the election of three episcopal leaders at 2016 Jurisdictional Conference. As a district superintendent, I worked with two bishops experiencing firsthand that those who are to lead an conference, as well as in the whole UMC, must be spiritual and principled leaders, passionate for connecting all people to God and in ministry, able to relate to and motivate clergy and churches to spiritual growth and missional service, as well as skilled in building consensus while moving ideas into reality.
