Personal Statement: An active leader in my local church, I have been a repeat member of Annual Conference and also have General and Jurisdictional Conference experience. Next year, I hope to be consecrated as a United Methodist Deaconess having completed the core studies and submitted my intent to serve in full-time lay ministry of love, justice, and service as a public health nurse. I have already served in this ministry for three years, leading a team of Maternal-Child Health professionals, navigating multiple layers of grant requirements, and collaborating with five county health departments to improve the health status of families in our communities. I cherish the time I get to spend with parents providing health education and empowering them to take charge of their family’s health. As a wife of ten years and a mother of a young child, I know how much work it takes to let love breathe when sometimes there are no compromises to be had. I know how easy it is to feel fear instead of love, and yet I know that nobody wins unless love prevails. And I know that I have true love in my heart for all God’s people and for the UMC
