Advanced Courses

Advanced courses are developed by Discipleship Ministries (formerly GBOD).  Advanced courses provide at least 10 hours of instruction.  Advanced courses use a required text and will involve pre-course assignments.

Lay Servant Ministries courses are open to ALL, whether or not an enrollee applies to serve as a Lay Servant.

This event is open to all and will be a good experience for Clergy, CLMs and laity seeking information on holding a Lay Witness Mission at their church or in their Charge/Parish. This training will also benefit participants in helping them to share their witness with others. Persons other than Lay Servants/CLMs attending for continuing education credit, will only need to attend on Saturday;  however, the option to attend on both days is available.

This event is also being offered to those laity who would like to become LWM Team members or to explore that possibility. Lay Servant/CLM continuing education credit will be available for those wanting to use it (information concerning requirements to receive continuing education is available at http://www.igrc.org/forms?topic=Lay%20Servant%20Ministries.) Participation in this event does not commit you to becoming a team member. Lay Servants/CLMs attending for credit MUST attend both days.

Congregations other than United Methodist can request to hold a LWM at their church and you need not be United Methodist to be a team member or a Team Coordinator.
