Young adults explore social justice in the nation's capital - (7/2/2008)
Young adults, ages 18-24, passionate about social justice and active in the denomination are selected annually from the UMC's five ethnic caucuses to participate in the program. All the interns are placed in nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations here for two months.

Regional United Methodist Church body to meet in Grand Rapids - (7/2/2008)
The North Central Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church will hold its quadrennial meeting in Grand Rapids, Michigan July 16 to July 19, 2008. This gathering will bring over 300 elected delegates to Grand Rapids for the first time since 1960. Delegates attending will come from smaller regional bodies, called annual conferences, from Ohio to the Dakotas.

Episcopal Candidates - (7/2/2008)
The jurisdicional conference will elect one bishop to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Bishop Sharon A. Brown Christopher, who currently serves the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. Once a new bishop is elected, assignments to specific regional conferences are made by a Jurisdictional Committee on Episcopacy.
