Benevolence Application for Specialized Ministries and Advance Specials

Now that we have passed a budget for 2012 it is time to begin the process all over again for 2013. As we enter into the budget cycle for the 2013 Benevolence Budget, along with the ministry assessment process and granting of Advance Special status, this letter is to assist you in this year’s process so that our work together will run smoothly as we make the best decisions possible for the glory of God and the fulfillment of the vision and mission of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference.

An application form is available for download for benevolences, which includes the ministry assessment questions, a directions section with all the deadlines and a District & Conference signature page. We would prefer that you submit these forms electronically if at all possible to speed up the processing. Like previous years, we are providing the Health and Welfare Ministries and Specialized Ministries the email addresses of your District Offices as well as the Office of the Director of Connectional Ministries. It is important that you send a copy to both your District Office and the Office of the Director of Connectional Ministries.

We have eliminated the signature page for this year. The person directing the ministry need only place a checkmark in the top box on page 3. The District Signature page (page 4) is to be left blank and the District Committee and District Superintendent will fill in the rest upon your submission by the deadline to the District office. The Conference Committee section on page 4 is to be left blank and it will be filled in by the Conference Committee upon completion of their hearings.
Just a reminder of these deadlines:

September 15, 2011 is the deadline for all Specialized Ministries, Advance Specials and Health and Welfare applications with their budget request and should be sent to your District Office and the Office of the Director of Connectional Ministries. Audits need to be sent in hard copy to the Office of the Director of Connectional Ministries and are not necessary for the District Office.

November 4, 2011 is the deadline on which District Committees must submit their recommendations to the Office of the Director of Connectional Ministries.

December 3, 2011 will be the hearings for Specialized Ministries.

December 5, 2011 will be the hearings for Health and Welfare.

Results of all the hearings will be passed along to the Equipping and Connecting Team and voted on at their December meeting so the Benevolence Budget can be passed on to CCFA.

Thank you for your commitment and service to Christ that enables us together to fulfill the vision and mission of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference.
