NOTE: All summer employees are required to attend training prior to deployment at camp sites. Failure to attend or to make alternative arrangements will disqualify applicants from employment.

• Lifeguard/waterfront training begins Friday, May 25 and continues through Wednesday, May 30.
• General staff training begins on Friday, June 1 and continues through Friday, June 8.


Counselors

Counselors care for and live with children as care-givers and role models. As facilitators of the camper experience, counselors strive to raise self-esteem and foster the cabin/site dynamic by actively participating in all camp activities. Excellent communication skills, childcare experience, and love of outdoors are essential.


Craft Instructor

Crafts instructors are supervised by the program director. They manage the crafts program for elementary through high school aged campers using in various media. They inventory and order supplies as needed, organize the use and storage of all craft supplies, conduct classes for campers who participate in the craft program, and develop and create samples of unique class projects.


Lifeguards

Lifeguards must be professionally certified in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR. They must be able to stand for extended periods of time, maintain visual supervision of pool area, and observe the campers’ behavior, assess its appropriateness, and enforce appropriate safety regulations. Additional training and certification is given to those working the beachfront. The head lifeguard will, in addition to the above tasks, work with the office and program director to schedule appropriate staff coverage for water activities, supervise and support lifeguard staff, inventory, and pack and close down waterfronts at the end of the camp session.


Recreation Leader

Recreation leaders are supervised by the program director. They oversee and run daily recreation time, set up and take down recreation fields for each recreation session, and build relationships with campers while providing a Christ-like example. Recreation leaders will sometimes assist with emergency coverage responsibilities as defined by the Program Director.


Residential Deans

Residential deans must have completed at least three years of college (or equivalent) and are responsible for supervision and spiritual growth of counselors, programming, camper management, and counselors' daily schedule. Great administrative and communication skills and previous camp counselor experience required.


Worship Leader

Worship leaders are musicians that will lead campers of various ages in worship. Supervised by the program director, the worship leader will plan and execute a worship program with various components in collaboration with the program director.


Videographer/Photographer

The videographer/photographer is responsible to the program director. Responsibilities may include operating a digital camera, operating digital video camera, and compiling video footage of campers from each week into a highlight video set to music.
