Conference Archives

The Conference Archives is located at Mt. Vernon Wesley United Methodist Church and is the repository for records of local churches that have completed it mission; historical records and artifacts; and records of clergy that have served in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference and its predecessor conferences.

The Archives is governed by the Conference Commission on Archives and History, which is charged with the responsibilities of "collecting, preserving and making accessible the historically significant records of the annual conference and its agencies, including data relating to the origin and history of the conference and its antecedents" (Paragraph 641.1, 2016 Book of Discipline).

The Archives are open 20 hours per week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays. Conference Archivist Kenyon Reed is available to assist you in your historical research or to provide assistance in locating items within the Archives.
