WASHINGTON NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
A new appeal for volunteer teams has been sent from Washington, IL this morning. Teams are requested to sign in at the Bethany Community Church at 27265 Dutch Lane in Washington.
There is no need to call ahead of time unless you have a group of over 30 people, but you must register at the following times listed below. Teams and individuals do not have to be trained in Early Response to work in this debris sorting and removal. Teams of approximately 8 people will be sent to work sites. You must provide your own transportation to reach the work site.
Hand warmers, protective eye wear, N95 masks and general materials are available and the volunteer registration site. Take general tools for clean up like rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, etc..
Please be open to do whatever our community needs. Much of the work involves cleaning up yards, debris removal, and debris sorting. Some work involves indoor donation sorting at local donation centers.

BROOKPORT ISSUES CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are needed to finish cleanup work in Brookport beginning tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 14) and through the end of next week.
There has been a specific request for heavy equipment which is needed to pull down and demolish several structures.
Persons need not be UMCOR trained to volunteer, but advance notice of your plans would assist greatly. To volunteer, contact Rev. Jeff Bealmear, pastor of Metropolis First UMC at 618-889-2641.
