Charting the Course

Charting the Course coverCharting the Course of Christian Discipleship is a workbook designed to help a local church develop their own unique disciple formation process. It was developed out of a partnership between the General Board of Discipleship in Nashville and the New Streams Team in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. A copy of the book was distributed to every church in our conference in June 2006.

Chapter Overview

These chapter outlines are designed for users of the IGRC version of the New Streams workbook, Charting the Course of Christian Discipleship. This material was incorporated into the Discipleship Resources version of the book during the revision process. Using the outlines should simplify the workbook process.

Stories from the Stream

Stories from the Stream is a collection of disciple formation processes, definitions of what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ, and stories about disciple-making ministry submitted by local congregations just like yours from across the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. If you have a story or process to share, please send it via email to Beth Fender: bfender@igrc.org.

Resource List

This resource list may be useful to you or your church as you develop a disciple formation process (or consider whether to start developing a process). Many of the resources are available for IGRC churches/individuals to borrow from the United Media Resource Center in Springfield. For further information, please visit the UMRC webpage.

If you have any questions about the workbook or about designing an intentional disciple formation process for your church, please contact Beth Fender.
