Part-Time Worship Leader

Alton Main Street United Methodist Church is seeking to fill a part-time position responsible for leading and growing the contemporary worship ministry.

General Qualifications
· Commitment to Main Street United Methodist Church doctrine, vision, and policies

· Experienced in leading worship in a contemporary setting preferred

· Ability to record performance pieces for our online worship service

· Ability to create and direct a praise band with volunteers from the church

· Skilled in vocal and instrumental direction

· Quality singing voice and engaging stage presence

· Team player with good relational skills and positive attitude

· Self-starter who strives for quality

· Ability to lead the congregation in traditional hymnology is a plus

· Lead worship once a week in the contemporary service

· Select the contemporary songs in advance in coordination with the Directing Pastor

· Responsible for musical content of our online service

· Work in coordination with the people responsible for the sound/video booth, online service, and other music/arts staff or volunteers

· Recruit volunteers to start a praise band

· Lead the congregation in traditional hymns is a plus

· Ensure stage set-ups, lighting, sound system, video systems, and worship presentation software are working properly and ready for the service

· Attend staff meetings

· Attend Worship Committee and Creative Team meetings

· Review the worship presentation in Easy Worship/Pro-Presenter for possible last minute corrections

Salary based on experience. Expected work week is 8-10 hours.

· Six months of experience in leading worship

· High school or equivalent

· Major in Worship Music (preferred)

· Two letters of recommendation one of which should be by a pastor or worship director

· Statement about applicant’s call to ministry

· Submission of video of applicant leading worship

· In one page, explain applicant’s theology about worship

· Basic knowledge of Easy Worship/Pro-Presenter
