Carl Sharp, 98, a member of Chatsworth UMC, mans the Salvation Army kettle during the Christmas holidays. Two weekends in December, the United Methodist, Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Roman Catholic Church rings the bell for the Greater Heartland Division of the Salvation Army based out of Peoria. Sharp will turn 99 in March.
