Living Faith UMC in Bowen has been the Charter Sponsor of BSA Troop 32 for many years. Ranking high on a list of proud moments has been the advancement of six Eagle Scouts from the same patrol. Pictured in the front row, from left are: Sawyer Weinberg, Michael Janssen, and Joseph Janssen   Pictured back row from left are: Corbin Raymond, Chase Twidwell and Benjamin Janssen
As Cub Scouts, Sawyer, Corbin and Chase were all in the same den. Joe, Mike and Ben joined them as Webelos. These boys were blessed with great leaders at a variety of levels including their Scoutmaster, Rev. Dixie Croxton, a United Methodist minister. The Scouts enjoyed many lessons, trips, soggy campouts and earned numerous merit badges, as well as making friends with other scouts. Over the years, membership changed, but these six young men have been in the same patrol through their scouting careers. They have advanced through the ranks together, have been giving back to the younger scouts, and have moved on to other adventures. Corbin will be a Senior at Macomb HS this fall. The other five recently graduated from Augusta Southeastern High School, making history with their graduating class having five Eagle scouts in a class of 29 students, and high school enrollment of 134.
Their Eagle Scout projects included: Corbin--landscaping renovations at Glenwood Park in Macomb, Sawyer--flag pole and granite bench at Woodlawn Cemetery of Augusta, Chase--Veteran markers on stones at Round Prairie Cemetery of Plymouth, Michael--firepit at LFUMC, Joe--Food Pantry renovations at LFUMC, Ben--concrete loading pad for Food Pantry at LFUMC.
