27 IGRC students benefit from United Methodist scholarships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A total of 27 students have been awarded a combined total of $44,000 to further their education with scholarships from General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
Funds for the scholarships are derived from the United Methodist Student Sunday offering which will be observed on Sunday, Nov. 27 this year.

IGRC students receiving scholarship include the following:

  • Andrea Stuby, Alton Main Street UMC, Mississippi River District, $1,000 United Methodist General Scholarship for studies at Eden Theological Seminary.
  • Haley Hausman, Rosiclare UMC, Cache River District, $1,300 Rev. Charles W. Tadlock Scholarship for studies at Vanderbilt University School of Theology.
  • Nathaniel Jackstadt, Maryville St. Lukes UMC, Mississippi River District, $1,000 Rev. Dr. Karen Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship for studies at Butler University.
  • Brad Curtis, Lincoln First UMC, Sangamon River District, $1,000 United Methodist General Scholarship for studies at Asbury Theological Seminary.
  • Isaac Elkins, Casey UMC, Embarras River District, $617 IGRC Merit Award, $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship and $1,500 UM Allocation Award for studies at North Central College.
  • Heather Robertson, Pekin First UMC, Illinois River District, $1,500 United Methodist General Scholarship for studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
  • Matthew Bachman, Belleville St. Matthew UMC, Mississippi River District, $500 David W. Self Scholarship and $5,000 UM Allocation Award for studies at McKendree University.
  • Jessica Davenport, Normal Hope UMC, Vermilion River District, $617 IGRC Merit Award and $2,000 Special Seminary Scholarship for studies at Wesley Theological Seminary.
  • David Bell, Casey UMC, Embarras River District, $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship for studies at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
  • Allison Jordahl, Rantoul First UMC, Iroquois River District, $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship and $1,000 UM Allocation Award for studies at Central Methodist University.
  • Alyssa Gourley, Normal Calvary UMC, Vermilion River District, $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship for studies at Missouri State University.
  • Emilee Monken, Casey UMC, Embarras River District, $1,000 UM Allocation Award for studies at Illinois Wesleyan University.
  • Jacey Schwarzlose, West Salem Zion UMC, Kaskaskia River District, $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship for studies at Wabash Valley College.
  • Roxy Twaddle, Washington Crossroads UMC, Illinois River District, $1,500 United Methodist General Scholarship for studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
  • Eun Ae Lee, Urbana Korean Jesus Love UMC, $2,275 E. Craig Brandenburg Scholarship for studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
  • Cassidy Bos, Loraine UMC, Spoon River District, $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship for studies at Central College.
  • Madeline Gibson, Neoga Grace UMC, Embarras River District, $1,000 UM Allocation Award and $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship for studies at Illinois Wesleyan University
  • .Miranda Harris, Normal Calvary, Vermilion River District, $500 UM Allocation Award for studies at North Central College.
  • William Meachum, Pontiac First UMC, Vermilion River District, $2,275 E. Craig Brandenburg Scholarship and $616 IGRC Merit Award for studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
  • Nicholas Goodell, Pontiac First UMC, Vermilion River District, $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship for studies at University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign.
  • Tracy Bromley, Pontiac First UMC, Vermilion River District, $1,500 United Methodist General Scholarship for studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
  • Megan Pichaske, Dunlap Prospect UMC, Illinois River District, $800 Ethnic Minority Scholarship for studies at Olivet Nazarene Univeristy.
  • Amy Brooks, Waverly UMC, LaMoine River District, $1,000 United Methodist General Scholarship for studies at Eden Theological Seminary.
  • Hannah Porter, Macomb Wesley UMC, LaMoine River District, $1,000 Layman Gift of Hope Scholarship for studies at Western Illinois University.
  • Jessica George, Shattuc UMC, Kaskaskia River District, $500 United Methodist General Scholarship for studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
  • Samuel Horsch, Gibson City UMC, Iroquois River District, $2,000 SEA Allocation Award for studies at Boston University School of Theology.
