Westerfield Tucker honored by Emory & Henry College
IGRC clergy member Karen Westerfield Tucker was recently honored by Emory & Henry College for significant contributions to the college and the region.
Westerfield Tucker was one of several honored during the school’s Charter Day celebration March 24. A member of the Class of 1976, Tucker received the Distinguished Achievement Award.
A professor of worship for the School of Theology at Boston University, Westerfield Tucker currently serves as president of Societas Liturgica and is editor-in-chief of Studia Liturgica, an international ecumenical review for liturgical research and renewal.
Tucker is a life member of the Hymn Society of the United States and Canada. She is a member of the National Council of Churches’ General Assembly, and was their coordinator of worship for 2010. She is a member of the North American Academy of Liturgy, recently serving as a Convener and an editor of their printed proceedings. She was a member of The World Council of Churches Commission on Faith and Order, and is currently a member of the World Methodist Council.
