Launching a New Worship Service workshop

10/18/2013

The Office of Congregational Development is sponsoring a workshop, Launching a New Worship Service, on Nov. 22-23 at Murphysboro UMC.

Is your church poised to start a new worship service? What does it take to do so successfully and reach new people for Christ? IGRC Coordinator of Congregational Development Mike Crawford will lead the workshop which is designed for churches which have already made the commitment to start a new service to develop the strategy and action steps to make it a reality. It is most effective if a team of at least 3 to 4 people attend together.

Topics which will be covered include Fatal Mistakes Many Churches Make, Focus on Your Mission Field, Building a Launch Team, and Reaching, Welcoming, and Connecting New People. As a part of the workshop, each church team will develop an implementation timeline.

The workshop will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday with a light meal and end by 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The cost is $15 per person for Friday supper, Saturday lunch, and snacks. Participants must make their own lodging arrangements, if needed.

To register, send $15 per person to Murphysboro UMC, Attn: Christine Nolan, 1500 Pine St., Murphysboro, IL 62966. Make checks payable to Murphysboro UMC. Include name, church name, and email address for each participant.

All registrations must be received by Friday, Nov. 15. No registrations will be accepted after that date.

If you have questions regarding content of the workshop, contact Mike Crawford at mcrawford@igrc.org.
