SPRINGFIELD – A Springfield native and long-time United Methodist has been selected for the Conference’s new full-time position which will serve both the Area Office and the Office of Ministerial Excellence, effective May 1.

Kristin Franklin was selected from the field of candidates for this new position. A former member of Springfield: Douglas Ave. UMC, she has most recently served as Director of Children’s Ministry at Crossroads UMC in Washington for the past seven years.

“Kristin is gifted with strong relational skills which will be essential for the work in both offices,” said the Rev. Dr. Jacqui King, IGRC Director of Ministerial Excellence. “Her enthusiasm, organizational skills and dedication were very evident.”

Among the new position’s responsibilities, Franklin will serve as one of the primary record-and-data keepers focused on personnel recordkeeping for the Board of Ordained Ministry and the Episcopal Office. She will monitor and support the processing of required reports, tracking participation for mandatory training events, and developing key follow-up procedures following events sponsored by the Episcopal Office and Ministerial Excellence Teams. She will also provide other administrative support to the staff of the Ministerial Excellence Team as well as to the Executive Assistant to the Bishop.

Franklin is married to IGRC Coordinator of Missions and Outreach and Associate Coordinator of Camping and Youth Ministries.
