Rev. Dean C. Wright, 84, of Bath, passed away at his home at 10:07 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015. He was born May 15, 1930 in Rural Smithfield, IL to Ira and Gladys (Lovell) Wright. He married Eunice Glore on February 14, 1951 and she preceded him in death on March 7, 1990. He married Barbara Ferguson on June 27, 1992 and she survives.
Rev. Wright is survived by his wife, Barbara of Bath, five children, Rev. Dan (Patricia) Wright of Annawan, IL, Tim Wright of Kilbourne, Dennis (Janet) Wright of Spotsylvania, PA, Mark (Anne) Wright of Oxford, IA, Joyce (Mark) Kramer of Bath, four step-children, Dionne (Tim) Dingerson of Greely, CO, Dichelle (Brian) Wilzbach of Naperville, IL, Deanndre (Brian) Gabor of Pontiac, Dikera (Sam) Guiterrez of Romeoville,IL, nineteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Clarence Wright of Bushnell, IL and sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Wright of Smithfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Cecil, Chester, Clayton and Harry Wright as well as one sister, Helen Brooks.
Rev. Wright was a member of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. He served many churches during his career including, 1952, Ipava Circuit; 1956, Schuyler Parish; 1962, Oconee-Fairview-Ohlman; 1969, Hume-Brocton-Garland; 1975, Bath-Chandlerville-Fairview; 1984, Cornell-Blackstone and Camden-Elm Grove 1995-1999.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at Fairview Methodist Church near Bath at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Rev. Judy Vidakovich will officiate. Burial will follow the services at 4:00 p.m. at Baughman Cemetery at Smithfield.
