Robbie V. Williams Ervin, 94, of Rushville, IL, passed away at 4:50 a.m., Saturday April 19, 2014 at Wesley Village in Macomb, IL. She was born on June 10, 1919 on a farm near Sheridan in Crittendon County, Kentucky; a daughter of the late Robert Lee Williams and Carrie Hurley Williams. She married Marshall H. Ervin of Cape Girardeau, MO on March 22, 1936. Robbie is survived by two sons; Marshall L. Ervin of Macomb, IL Dennis G. Ervin & wife Deborah of Pace, FL, a daughter; Patti Boyd & husband Dick of Rushville, IL, a daughter-in-law; Jeanne Ervin of Rushville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; & three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents one son; Jim Ervin, two sisters Elizabeth Thomas, & Melville Lynn; three brothers; Fred Williams, Rawls Williams & Ray Williams. As a pastor’s wife Mrs. Ervin served in many leadership roles in United Methodist Churches and communities, throughout Central, IL where she and her husband lived. Robbie was Active in Conference and District organizations. She was awarded a life membership in the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Ervin participated in the community Woman’s Civic Clubs, the Hospital Service Guilds, the Cub Scouts, and Home Extension groups. She co-authored a book on family life with her husband in 1998. She was educated in Cape Girardeau, Missouri Schools. Robbie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rushville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Rushville First United Methodist Church with Rev. J. William Warner officiating. Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.
