Ora Mae Leah Goodrich, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. John's Hospice.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1927 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Orville William and Genevieve (Runkels) McCafferty. She married Robert Wesley Goodrich in Springfield on May 16, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1971.
Mrs. Goodrich worked as a secretary at St. John's Hospital for 43 years and was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Genie (Husband Paul) Anning of Riverton, IL, a granddaughter Lori (husband Erik) Hanson of Riverton, IL, 2 grandsons Rob Anning of Springfield and Steve (wife Tracey) Anning of Riverton, IL, 4 great-grandchildren, Jack Hanson, Emma Hanson, Genevieve Anning, and Paul Anning, a brother Bud (wife Susie) McCafferty of Rochester, IL, and many nieces and nephews. She also loved Karen and Chris Hannam, Sarah Stickney, and Justin Stickney and took them in as her grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister "Boots" Pantier, and 2 brothers, Jim and Kenny McCafferty.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11:30 am, with Rev. Grant Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
