Rev. James R. Hunter was born May 13, 1923 in Terre Haute, IN to William Howard and Aletha (Stricker) Hunter and passed away on Jan. 20, 2019. He married the love of his life, Mary Frances (Price) on June 27, 1948. After serving in the Army during World War II, he attended college at Iowa University, Indiana State and graduated with a Masters of Divinity from Rochester Divinity School. He served in churches in New York, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. His hobbies included bird-watching, oil painting and taking and developing b/w photos. Preceded in death by his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter, Alice Hunter-Kelly; granddaughter, Erin (Kelly) VanAlstine; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dewey of Terre and Lila Omohundro of Winchester, Kentucky; a niece, Becky Bowman and other nieces and nephews.
