Margaret Farmer, 96, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, formerly of Bonnie, Illinois passed away at 5:25 P.M. November 24, 2019 at Mount Vernon Health Care Center. She was born May 28, 1923 in Tolu, Kentucky to the late Harry and Cindarilla (Thomas) Stone. She married Marion R. Farmer on August 10, 1941 in Herrin, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly sixty-two years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 3, 2003.
Margaret is survived by her son, Danny Farmer and wife, Mary of Bonnie, Illinois; grandchildren, April Turner of DuQuoin, Illinois, Matthew Turner of Marion, Illinois, Ed Beever and wife, Elaine of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Shaina Jackson and husband, Jeremy of Marion, Illinois, Duke Farmer of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Kwort Farmer and wife, Chelsey of Woodlawn, Butch Farmer and wife, Sarah of Marion, Illinois, Julie Parker and husband, Cory of Texas, and Mark Woodward of Texas; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her children, Terry Farmer, Donna Turner, Randy Farmer, Janet Woodward; and siblings, Evalena May, Geneva Roland, Mary Humphrey, Melva Culp, Clarence Stone, and Lee Stone.
Mrs. Farmer was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Bud Storey officiating. Interment will follow at Cundiff Cemetery in Blairsville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church Food Pantry or Cundiff Cemetery.
