IGRC retired pastor, the Rev. Merlin H. Schendel, 87, died Dec. 4 in Leesburg, Fla.
Rev. Schendel began his ministry in the Minnesota Conference of the former Evangelical United Brethren Church in 1953. He began serving in the former Central Illinois Conference in 1961 and retired after 41 years of active ministry in 1994 from Decatur: Christ.
