Luella Hedden, 101, of Rushville, IL passed away at 9:20 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Bickford of Macomb. She was born on March 26, 1920 in Vincennes Twp., Knox Co., IN a daughter of the late Henry A. F. & Cora M. Thorn Meyer. She married Rev. Harold E. Hedden on August 20, 1944 at the United Methodist Church in Heltonville, IN. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2009. She is survived by (1) son, Richard Hedden & wife Susan of Indianapolis, IN, (2) daughters, Norma Werkheiser of Kewanee, IL, Nancy Rebman & husband Dennis of Rushville, IL, (9) grandchildren, (22) great grandchildren, (5) great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by (1) great grandson, Joseph Marcelak, (2) brothers, David Meyer & Bob Meyer, (1) sister, Laura Butler, (2) sons-in-law, Howard Werkheiser, Sam Hutchison. Luella enjoyed quilting. She hand stitched quilts for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Luella had a gift of hospitality. She loved people and company. After her husband passed away she would host a group of ladies every Thursday evening for supper & chicken foot dominoes. She belonged to the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, DAR, and the Audubon Society. She was involved with the committee that started Mobile Meals in Rushville and served as treasurer. She served alongside her husband Harold in the ministry for 39 years. Luella was a loving devoted wife, mom, grandma and pastor’s wife. Her joy & delight were her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Rushville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating. Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Rushville First United Methodist Church.
