Mrs. Lucile M. Follis Mitchell, age 101 of Jonesboro, died at 4:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 in the Anna Rehab and Nursing Care Center. Lucile was born February 26, 1912 in Johnston City the daughter of Conrad and Mary Baumgaertner Morneweg. Lucile married Coastel L. Follis in November of 1931 in Johnston City. He preceded her in death in 1955. She later married Rev. Louis Mitchell in 1959. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Lucile is survived by two sons, Dale C. (Billie) Follis of Carterville, Fawn P. (Carolyn) Follis of Jonesboro; three stepdaughters, Darlene (Mike) Wheatley of Dallas, TX, Teresa Wright of Girard, Rose Ellis of Glendale, MO; two stepsons, Paul Mitchell of Chester, John Mitchell of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Cara Follis, Amy (Stuart) Rendleman, Melanie (David) Craig, Timothy Follis, Stephen (Jamie) Follis ; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Follis, Grace Rendleman, Keri Rendleman, Andrew Craig, Sidney Follis, Dara Follis, Vida Follis; two great-great-grandchildren, Mallory Follis, Adalyn Follis; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Lucile was Preceded in death by her parents; husbands Coastel L. Follis and Rev. Louis Mitchell, two brothers, Fred and Charley Morneweg; one sister, Pauline Miller; three stepdaughters Carol, Elsie, and Joyce; and two great-grandchildren Sibyl and Baylee.
Lucile was a member of the Ware United Methodist Church in Wolf Lake for many years.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Lucile M. Follis Mitchell will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Jonesboro Cemetery with Pastor John Walden officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ware United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and also at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
