Louise B. Croft, 96 of Bloomington, IL, formerly of Ellsworth, IL, passed away at 5:30 AM Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Martin Health Center, Bloomington, IL.
Her graveside funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Dawson Cemetery, Ellsworth, IL. The Rev. Vaughn Hoffman will be officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 AM -10:00 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Funeral services will start at 10:00am at the memorial home following the visitation. The family suggests memorials be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, IL.
Louise was born March 10, 1918 in Ellsworth, IL the daughter of James A. and Vida Schooley Bane. She married H.O. Croft in 1950, Ellsworth, IL. He precedes her in death.
Surviving are three cousins, Margaret Caldwell, Ellsworth, IL; Eleanor Stovall, Macon, Georgia; Helen Kimmerly, Tuscon, AZ; several second cousins including, Doug Caldwell, LeRoy, IL; Dave (Bridget) Caldwell, Ellsworth, IL; Kay Caldwell, Bloomington, IL; Steve ( Debbie) Sovereign, Bloomington, IL; Larry (Carol) Miller, Georgia; three special family friends,
Cheryl (Joseph) Arena, Florida; Patty (Mike) Milazzo, Arizona; Cindy Holtman, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Ruth Bane.
Louise graduated from Illinois State Normal University with a degree in Education. She taught elementary school for many years in various country schools before settling and teaching in Springfield, IL. Louise was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, IL. She was a former member of the First Methodist Church, Springfield, IL and was very active in the Women's Society of the church. She was very active in life with helping others. She helped her husband in his ministry at a country church in Springfield, IL.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
