Winifred Alta McCord passed away in Millenniun Assisted Living on February 25, 2015 at the age
of 94 years, 4 months and 21 days.
She was born on October 4,1920 in Harlan County, Nebraska to Alva and Alma Jones. She married
John H. McCord on December 26, 1939 in Huntley, Nebraska.
Surviving are three children: Harold Gene McCord of Wichita, Kansas; Nigel Joy (McCord) Glenn
of Glendale, Arizona ; and LeAlta Kay (McCord) Brummett of Seminole, Florida; one brother; Russell
Jones of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alva and Alma Jones, three brothers; Alfred, Melvin and Doyle Jones
She and her husband were avid motorcyclists.
She and her husband retired to live in Oquawka, Illinois until 2003 when they moved to Wesley Village
Retirement Home in Macomb, Illinois. She moved to Glendale, Arizona in December 2012 living in
Glencroft Retirement Village.
She is mourned by her children, grandchildren,great grandchildren,great-great grandchildren, brother, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on March 8, 2015 at 3:00 pm. at Chapel of the Chimes.
