Blanche Moore Jackson, age 95, formerly of Odin and late of Prescott, KS, died at 5:20 pm on Saturday, January 26, at Prescott Country View Nursing Home in Prescott, KS.
She was born on April 23, 1917 in Odin, IL the daughter of Sidney and Georgia (Adams) Moore. She married Rev. Cyril M. Jackson in 1936 in Murphysboro, IL and he preceded her in death December 1, 1990.
Blanche is survived by three sons - Kril M. Jackson and wife Pearl of Palm City, FL, George W. Jackson and wife Karen of Mound City, Ks, and Joseph C. Jackson of Detroit, MI; four grandchildren - Kerri, Kristina, Julie, and Penny; 1 step grandchild - Penny; one great grandchild; and three step great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Blanche was a offiliate member of the Odin United Methodist Church, and was a graduate of Odin Grade and High School. In addition to being a minister's wife, she had worked in elementary education as a teacher and Title I supervisor, retiring in 1982. She had been a lifelong area resident, prior to moving to KS in 2001.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin with Rev. Mark Doane officiating. Interment will follow.
Friends may call on Wednesday morning after 10:00 am at the Irvin Funeral Home in Odin.
Memorials may be made to the Odin United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
