Reverend Robert S. Patterson age 85 of Olney passed away March 23 at Good Samaritan Hospital In Vincennes, IN.
Reverend Patterson was born Robert Scott Patterson to Lou Robert and Bessie Frances (Robards) Patterson. He married Wanda Jean Daniels on September 15, 1949, She passed away November 11, 1996. He then married Marie McDowell on February 14, 1999, she survives.
Reverend Patterson answered the call to Ministry in 1958. He was a member of the Illinois Great… River Conferance of United Methodist Churches. He Pastored the following United Methodist Churches in Illinois, Makanda, Flat Rock, Mt. Erie, Iuka, Montrose, Palestine, Anna, Grafton, Cairo, Johnston City, Lancaster, West Liberty, Ellen Moore in Fairfield, and East St. Louis also Blairville, GA.
Reverend Robert Patterson is survived by his Wife, Marie Patterson of Olney, IL; Son, Robert Glenn Patterson and wife Barbara of Cawker City, KS; Son, Scott Daniel Patterson of Marion, IL; and Son, Steven Wayne Patterson of Olney, IL; sister, Adabelle Bissey of Olney, IL; Step-children, James Lowell McDowell and wife Kathy of Parkersburg, IL and Jerry Davis and wife Tammy of Grayville; Grandchildren, Kara Lynn Patterson, James Daniel Patterson and wife Melissa, Christina Smith and husband Eric, Jeremy Scott Patterson and wife Joni, Joseph Scott Patterson and Robert Leslie Patterson and Fiance Allison Walch; Step grandchildren, James Michael McDowell and wife Shari and Jessica Karyn McDowell; 11 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces & nephews
He is preceded in death by his Parents, first wife, infant son Paul Gregory, daughter, Donna Jean, grandson, Matthew Wayne Patterson, and step daughter Patricia Sue.
