Eleanor Lewis Mulligan 98, of Indianapolis, died January 2, 2017. She was born December 30, 1918 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Richard Meriwether and Bailey (Daniel) Lewis. She was raised near Salisbury, North Carolina.
Eleanor received her college degree from Montreat Training School in North Carolina, and a Master's Degree from the former Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Virginia. She met and married Rev. Robert Mulligan in 1942, making the tremendous move to the cold of Northern Illinois. They had four children over the next 18 years: Dawn, Robert Jr., Mary Alice, and Richard. She was a wonderful mother and faithful minister's wife during 12 pastorates which covered more than 65 years.
Eleanor's husband predeceased her in 2011. She is survived by their four children, 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Saturday, January 7, at 1:00pm, followed by the service at 2:00 at Westview Christian Church, 5925 West 34th Street, Indianapolis, 46224.
