Kenneth Oliver Crawford, 92, a former lay member to annual conference from Pekin Grace UMC, died April 3 in Pekin. He is the father of IGRC Coordinator of Congregational Development, the Rev. Michael J. Crawford.
 
His funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 8 at Pekin Grace UMC, with the Rev. Eric N. Swanson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
 
Mr. Crawford was well-known in the Conference. In 1989, Mr. Crawford was the first layman to be awarded the Harry Denman Evangelism Award in the former Central Illinois Conference. He was elected as a lay General and jurisdictional conference delegate in 1992 and a jurisdictional conference delegate in 1996. He and his wife, Pat coordinated Lay Witness Missions for 25 years, including missions in England and New Zealand. He served 17 years on the national board of Discover God’s Call and 23 years on the board of the John Wesley Fellowship of Illinois.
